Grounded Extraction Agents
A conceptual note on multi-step extraction, structured outputs, and evidence checks. No working agent implementation or comparative reliability result is established here.
Grounded Extraction Agents is a conceptual note on extracting structured information through explicit intermediate steps. No linked implementation or evaluation result is supplied; the title does not establish a working autonomous agent.
A candidate workflow could identify evidence, extract fields, and check output against the source. Decomposition can make boundaries inspectable, but stronger reliability would need to be demonstrated rather than assumed.
The design question is whether orchestration reduces ambiguity or adds complexity. Tool use, output schemas, and reference checks have different responsibilities; a schema-valid result is not necessarily supported by its source.
Source provenance, explicit control flow, termination behavior, failure tests, and labeled extraction cases would be needed to evaluate this proposal. The listed tools are not claims of implemented agent capability.
